How to stop Coursera training AI on your data

What the policy itself says, plan by plan. Where Coursera publishes the steps, they're here in its own words, read from an archived copy of the page that gives them. Where it doesn't, this page says so instead of inventing a menu path.

All learners

This is not an oversight of a company that has not thought about AI. The privacy notice devotes a section, "How We Use AI", to naming what the features are and what they do — dubbing, flashcards, roleplay, peer review, assessment generation, proctoring, two chatbots — and grouping them by purpose. It discloses that AI may affect your grade and that you can elect a human grader instead, which is a real and unusually specific protection. What it never says, anywhere, is whether the assignments, forum posts and answers you submit are used to train those models. The only place either document takes a position on training is the clause quoted here, and it points at you: learners may not train models on Coursera's content. The obligation runs one way.
