Everything on this page may be quoted. The figures are generated from the same data as the scoreboard on every build, so they are current as of 11 October 2026.
In one sentence
Is It Training on Me? is a public scoreboard of which apps use your data to train AI models, whether you can opt out, and what it costs you to refuse, built from the companies' own privacy policies, archived and quoted word for word.
In one paragraph
The site fetches each company's privacy policy, archives a dated copy, and quotes the sentence that answers one question: does this app train AI models on what you put into it? Each of the 232 apps gets a grade from A to F, or UNCLEAR when the policy doesn't say, and the build refuses to publish any quote that isn't word for word in the archive. Before an unfavourable grade is published the company is written to and invited to correct it. Every reply, and every silence, is on the record with dates. It's a static site with no accounts, no analytics and no tracking, funded by labelled paid notices whose price is the same whatever grade a sponsor holds.

The story so far
Fastmail changed a published policy after a letter from this site. Its entry had said it was told by email that the company has never trained AI on customer data, but that a customer can't cite an email. Fastmail then put the sentence into its privacy policy, and wrote:
“I have actually now added this line into our privacy policy. You can see this in the section "3rd Party AI connections".”
Facts to check against
- — Run by one person, Josh, in the UK. It's his own work. See about.
- — Public since August 2026. Every verdict quotes a dated, archived copy of the company's own document.
- — The reading is machine-assisted: a language model proposes clauses and drafts most of the site's words. The build verifies each published quote character for character against the archive, and a person decides the grades, writes the letters and edits the text.
- — No accounts, no analytics, no cookies, no tracking. What the site knows about its readers is on the privacy page.
- — Funded by ten labelled paid notices at one fixed price. A sponsor's grade doesn't change and never has.
- — The data is free to reuse with a link: /api.
- — Any entry can be dropped into an article as a live card: see "Embed this verdict" on the entry, or paste the entry's address into an editor that supports oEmbed.
- — The sponsorship terms, on one page: sponsors.pdf.
