How to stop Sonos training AI on your data

What the policy itself says, plan by plan. Where Sonos publishes the steps, they're here in its own words, read from an archived copy of the page that gives them. Where it doesn't, this page says so instead of inventing a menu path.

All accounts (Sonos app and speakers)

Re-read on 10 September 2026 against the statement Sonos published that month, 182 paragraphs saved by hand because the host serves the monitor an empty shell. It is a bigger document than the one read on 6 September: a "Sonos 27voice" upgrade now sends "voice recordings, transcripts, AI-inferred command intent, and command metadata" to Sonos cloud infrastructure for "AI-assisted processing", where the classic voice control kept everything on the device; an "Artificial intelligence ("AI") partners" section shares that voice data with the partners that provide the feature; and ambient-noise data is collected "to help us improve our speech recognition technology". None of it says "train", "model" or "machine learning". The speech-recognition sentence is the nearest, and it is the improvement boilerplate this site declines to grade on: it tells you the technology is improved, not that your recordings are the material. Whether recordings, transcripts or listening history train anything remains unstated, so the finding of silence stands, on a document that now has more to be silent about.
