This is an extract from an archived copy, fetched 5 October 2026. DuckDuckGo didn't author this page for us. It's a snapshot we captured from https://duckduckgo.com/duckai/privacy-terms. We hold the whole page and publish this part of it: the sentence a verdict rests on, with the text either side, so you can see it hasn't been lifted out of an exception.
The passage, in context
As noted above, we call model providers on your behalf, so your personal information (for example, IP address) is not exposed to them. In addition, we have agreements in place with all model providers that further limit how they can use data from these anonymous requests, including not using Prompts and Outputs to develop or improve their models, as well as deleting all information received once it is no longer necessary to provide Outputs (at most within 30 days, with limited exceptions for safety and legal compliance). Some models have different levels of privacy protections, including Zero Data Retention and Zero Provider Visibility. Those are described on a per-chat basis in the privacy dialogue for that chat session.

Checking the rest of it
The complete page is kept here and isn't republished. It's DuckDuckGo's copyrighted document, and an extract is what a reader needs to check a quotation. The SHA-256 above is of that whole snapshot: fetch the page yourself, hash it, and you can tell whether ours has been altered without having to trust us.
If you work for DuckDuckGo, or you are researching this and need the full capture, ask us for it and we will send it. If you believe a quote here is wrong or out of date, send us the paragraph. The correction gets published beside the clause.
