How to stop Barclays training AI on your data
What the policy itself says, plan by plan. Where Barclays publishes the steps, they're here in its own words, read from an archived copy of the page that gives them. Where it doesn't, this page says so instead of inventing a menu path.

Re-read on 7 October 2026. The full privacy notice for personal banking, effective August 2026, is a PDF this entry hadn't read. It says Barclays may process your information "using big data analytics and artificial intelligence technology (BDAI tools), which could include generative artificial intelligence (GenAI) serviced by third-party providers". The purposes are managing risk, improving its service and preparing statistical analyses, some of them shared outside Barclays. That's AI used on your data. Whether your data trains a model, Barclays' or a provider's, the notice doesn't say. Its "train" and two "training" matches are about staff and call recording. The data-control page and the old privacy summary don't mention AI at all. Compare Monzo, which answers the question in two sentences, and Revolut, which answers it in one.
