How to stop Canva training AI on your data
What the policy itself says, plan by plan. Where Canva publishes the steps, they're here in its own words, read from an archived copy of the page that gives them. Where it doesn't, this page says so instead of inventing a menu path.
Free & Pro (consumer accounts)
Where Canva says the switch is, in its own words. Each list is read from a dated, archived copy of the page it links to. Menus move. If a step is out of date, tell us at the foot of this page.
- Click your profile icon on the Canva homepage.
- Choose Your account, then Privacy controls.
- Switch off the permission covering use of your content to train AI.
"Use the toggle to enable or disable permissions."
Canva's help page doesn't name the training permission; its privacy policy calls it managing "the use of your data for training AI". A permission with a lock icon can't be changed on that account type.
"and to train our algorithms, models and AI products and services using machine learning to develop, improve and provide our Service. You can manage the use of your data for training AI to improve our Service in the privacy controls page under your privacy settings (opens in a new tab or window) ."
Canva Education (students)
Nothing to switch off: Canva's policy says training is off here.
"We will not use User Content of Canva Education for AI training."
