How to stop D-ID training AI on your data
What the policy itself says, plan by plan. Where D-ID publishes the steps, they're here in its own words, read from an archived copy of the page that gives them. Where it doesn't, this page says so instead of inventing a menu path.
All plans
The commitment is real but tightly scoped in time rather than in purpose: while Applicative Data sits "in the storage, awaiting processing or deletion", it is not accessed for anything, model training included. That says what happens to your image or video before and after the job, and nothing about what happens during it, which is the moment the question is actually about. D-ID replied on 26 Aug 2026 with an answer to exactly that: it "does not use users' personal data, uploaded images, videos, audio, or other user-provided information for any purpose other than generating videos, agent and avatars". That would close this listing if it were published. It is not. D-ID referred us to its privacy policy; the policy re-read live the same day contains no purpose limitation of that kind — no "solely", no "only for", no "other than" outside a sentence about backups — and its sole training statement is still the narrow one quoted here. So the listing stays UNCLEAR. A customer cannot cite an email they have never seen, and this site grades what a customer could cite. Asked again, D-ID answered again and more plainly on 28 Aug: it does not use uploads "to train, fine-tune, or improve our AI/ML models, or for any other purpose unrelated to providing our services". Twice asked and twice answered, without the sentence appearing in the policy either time. Nothing here doubts the answer; the listing records that a customer has no way to hold D-ID to it. One passage cuts the other way and belongs here. The policy says that "In certain cases, we may or will anonymize or de-identify your Personal Data and further use it for internal and external purposes, including, without limitation, to improve the services and for research purposes", and that "We may use Anonymous Information and/or disclose it to third parties without restrictions". Uploads are Personal Data. That is the strongest reason the emailed commitment is not yet policy: the published text reserves, for de-identified copies of what you upload, exactly the open-ended use the email rules out.
