How to stop Granola training AI on your data
What the policy itself says, plan by plan. Where Granola publishes the steps, they're here in its own words, read from an archived copy of the page that gives them. Where it doesn't, this page says so instead of inventing a menu path.
All plans
Where Granola says the switch is, in its own words. Each list is read from a dated, archived copy of the page it links to. Menus move. If a step is out of date, tell us at the foot of this page.
- Open Settings, then Preferences.
- Find the setting "Use my data to improve models for everyone".
- Turn the toggle off.
"In the Granola desktop app, open Settings > Preferences . Find the Use my data to improve models for everyone setting. Turn the toggle off ."
The help page rewritten on 21 September 2026 names the setting and where it lives; the earlier version said only that every plan could opt out in settings. Material flagged for safety review and feedback you give explicitly sit outside it, by the policy's own list.
"We only use de-identified data to train AI models, which you can opt-out of within your Granola account settings ."
Did a step here not work, or does Granola offer a control this page doesn't mention? Tell us and we'll correct it.
