How to stop HSBC training AI on your data
What the policy itself says, plan by plan. Where HSBC publishes the steps, they're here in its own words, read from an archived copy of the page that gives them. Where it doesn't, this page says so instead of inventing a menu path.

Re-read on 7 October 2026. The UK privacy notice this entry couldn't reach in August is published as a PDF, effective January 2026, beside a separate notice for the mobile app. Neither mentions AI, machine learning or model training. The UK notice's one "train" is "Train our people", and the mobile notice's one "model" is your device's make and model. The group notice, in its newest copy, says nothing either. HSBC does say it uses automated systems for credit and fraud decisions. It doesn't say whether customer data trains them.
