How to stop JetBrains training AI on your data

What the policy itself says, plan by plan. Where JetBrains publishes the steps, they're here in its own words, read from an archived copy of the page that gives them. Where it doesn't, this page says so instead of inventing a menu path.

Paid and commercial licences

Nothing to switch off: training here is off until an opt-in is given.

"We undertake that We will not use Your Inputs, Data, Outputs, and Suggestions to train any language models that generate code, text, or another type of data from which Your Inputs, Data, Outputs, or Suggestions could be extracted, unless You expressly agree to it."

Non-commercial (free) licences

Where JetBrains says the switch is, in its own words. Each list is read from a dated, archived copy of the page it links to. Menus move. If a step is out of date, tell us at the foot of this page.

IDE settings
  1. Open Settings, then Appearance & Behavior, System Settings, Data Sharing.
  2. Turn off sending detailed code-related data.
"If you're using a non-commercial license, detailed code‐related data collection is enabled by default - you can disable it in the IDE settings via Settings | Appearance & Behavior | System Settings | Data Sharing ."
