How to stop MyFitnessPal training AI on your data
What the policy itself says, plan by plan. Where MyFitnessPal publishes the steps, they're here in its own words, read from an archived copy of the page that gives them. Where it doesn't, this page says so instead of inventing a menu path.

The word "train" does not appear in this policy at all. "Machine learning" and "artificial intelligence" appear once each, in the sentence quoted, and they are named as technologies the company uses to improve and personalise the Services — not as things your data is used to build. That difference is the whole question, and the document does not close it: running an ML system over your food logs is not the same as putting those logs in a training set, and this policy never says which it means. MyFitnessPal replied on 10 September 2026, ten days after being asked: it "has not and is not using your personal information to train any proprietary models at this time". That would move this listing if it were published. It is not: the reply points back to the How We Use Personal Information section, which is the sentence quoted here, and the policy re-read live the same day still says only that machine learning and artificial intelligence are among the technologies used to improve the Services. Two hedges are recorded rather than held against anyone. "Proprietary models" leaves unaddressed the third-party model providers a product like this may send data to, and "at this time" describes the present without undertaking anything about the future. The reply is quoted in full above; the grade waits for the sentence to appear somewhere a customer can cite.
