ADDED13. User Biometric Data Certain optional features of our mobile applications will permit a user to record a "voiceprint" to improve speech-recognition accuracy. A voiceprint is a biometric identifier that is used to specifically identify that user and their voice. What we collect and why. When you choose to enable the voiceprint feature, we collect a recording of your voice reciting a short script and use it to create a voiceprint. We use this biometric identifier solely to improve the accuracy of dictation, speech recognition, speaker identification, and transcription during your use of our mobile phone applications. Enabling this voiceprint feature is entirely voluntary, and is not required for the use of our services. Consent. We collect, store, and use your voiceprint only after you have been informed of this practice within the mobile application, and have provided your consent when beginning the recording and before any collection occurs. Retention and destruction. We retain, and securely store, your voiceprint only as long as needed to provide the feature to you. We will permanently destroy it when the purpose for which it was collected has been satisfied (one year after your last use of the mobile application), whenever your account is deleted, or upon your request. Destruction is carried out by permanently deleting the biometric data from our production systems and backups, except where retention is otherwise required by law (such as a warrant or court order). Disclosure. We comply with applicable state laws governing the disclosure of voiceprints. We do not disclose, redisclose, or disseminate your voiceprint except (a) with your consent; (b) to a third-party service provider that helps us operate the feature and that has agreed to securely store your voiceprint; or (c) as required by law (including by a warrant or court order).
