The passage, in context

Paragraph 34 of 75

As part of providing the Services we may send you service announcements, technical notices, updates, security alerts and support-related messages related to your account or transactions with us, through the Services or by email. We may also communicate with you in response to your support requests, questions, feedback or comments to a blog post, or to provide you with information about our policies.

For security, compliance, fraud prevention and safety - We may use your personal information as we believe appropriate to investigate or prevent violation of the law or our Terms of Service; to secure the Services; to protect our, your or others' rights, privacy, safety or property; and to protect, investigate and deter against fraudulent, harmful, unauthorized, unethical or illegal activity. For example, we may use tools to scan your videos and other content in the Services for content that violates our Terms of Service or the law. We may also use information we collect about your device to detect users violating our Terms of Service and prevent further violations.

For compliance with law; legal claims - We may use your personal information as we believe appropriate (a) to comply with applicable laws, lawful requests and legal process, such as to respond to subpoenas or requests from government authorities; (b) where permitted by law in connection with any legal investigation; and (c) to prosecute or defend legal claims.

We do not use any personal information, Google user data, or customer-provided content (including prompts, uploads, or API data) to develop, improve, or train any generalized or proprietary AI or ML models.

User data is used solely for executing user-initiated queries and tasks within the Abacus.AI platform to deliver the requested functionality. It is not used in any way for the development, training, or improvement of proprietary or third-party AI/ML models.

Abacus.AI maintains a zero data retention agreement with all foundation and third-party AI models integrated into our product. Any data exchanged with such models occurs only for real-time inference and is never stored, logged, or reused by the model provider for training or product improvement.

Abacus.AI complies fully with Google's Limited Use Requirements for all data obtained through Google APIs, including Gmail, Drive, and Docs. Any Google user data or files accessed through these APIs are processed only when explicitly initiated by the user to perform a requested action, such as generating content or analyzing files, and are used solely for real-time inference or task execution. This data is never used to develop, fine-tune, or improve any AI or ML models-whether proprietary to Abacus.AI or belonging to any third-party provider. Abacus.AI also confirms unequivocally that Google Workspace APIs are not used by our platform or any integrated third-party service to train or enhance generalized or non-personalized AI models. We maintain a strict zero data retention policy for all third-party and foundation models, ensuring that any information exchanged is transient, encrypted, and deleted immediately after processing. Open-source models such as Gemma and others are used with their open-source weights and hosted by Abacus.AI entirely within secure US based servers.
