Does Bluesky train on your data?
Bluesky's company account said in November 2024 that it does not use your content to train generative AI and has no intention of doing so. The privacy policy leaves it to that post.

How we read it: Resolved from UNCLEAR on 10 September 2026. The statement is a post by the official account on 15 November 2024, repeated on 27 November ("Bluesky will not train generative AI on user data"), saved by hand from the network's public record; the privacy policy of 14 August 2025 has nothing on training, which is why the confidence is medium. Two limits the company itself states: the commitment is about generative AI, and it cannot bind anyone else scraping an open public network, which a proposed per-user consent setting would only signal. Bluesky was added on 10 September 2026 and had not yet been written to.

How to opt out of Bluesky AI training
Plan by plan, from what Bluesky's own policy says about refusing. Where it publishes the steps, they're listed here with the limits they carry. Where there's nothing to switch off, or nothing graded, this says so instead of inventing a menu path.

Nothing to switch off: Bluesky's policy says training is off here.
What this policy has done since we started watching
The record starts here. Bluesky's 2 documents were first captured on 10 Sept 2026, and there's no earlier copy to compare them against, so this verdict has no history behind it yet. From now on every re-read is diffed against those copies, and anything that moves appears here.
Vendor response
We haven't yet written to Bluesky about this verdict, and they haven't disputed, clarified or announced a change to any clause quoted above. When either happens it's published here, word for word.
