Does Tinder train on your data?

Tinder names machine learning as a way it develops features, on the same wording as its sister app Hinge. Neither says whether your data trains anything.

This clause is real, but it doesn't resolve the training question - see the finding below.

Why this is still UNCLEAR: The clause appears word for word in Hinge's policy, which is the same corporate group, and the second mention is the Match Group formula about data that "cannot identify or be attributed specifically to you" being used to create new technologies "including through machine learning". Machine learning is named as a means of building features. What is never said is whether what members write and upload is what it learns from. This entry was nearly filed as an adverse grade on a first pass; reading the two policies side by side is what showed the clause describes a method rather than an input.

How to opt out of Tinder AI training

Plan by plan, from what Tinder's own policy says about refusing. Where it publishes the steps, they're listed here with the limits they carry. Where there's nothing to switch off, or nothing graded, this says so instead of inventing a menu path.
