This is an extract from an archived copy, fetched 30 August 2026. Chegg didn't author this page for us. It's a snapshot we captured from https://www.chegg.com/privacypolicy. We hold the whole page and publish this part of it: the sentence a verdict rests on, with the text either side, so you can see it hasn't been lifted out of an exception.

The entry cited this capture from 31 August 2026 until 7 September 2026, when the document was re-read; it now cites the capture of 14 September 2026. This page stays so that anything that linked it still works.

The passage, in context

Paragraph 97 of 397

Artificial Intelligence Features

In addition to the data practices described above, this section describes how we process your personal data when you use our artificial intelligence features.

Chegg implements and makes available features that include, utilize, operate with, or are based on artificial intelligence (each, an " AI Function "). When you use an AI Function, certain types of your personal data may be processed by and/or transmitted to third-party providers to enable the functionality. For example, an AI Function may capture your voice, text inputs, keystrokes (even when you do not press send), as well as the outputs generated in response to your query. Some AI Functions, including our Speaking Practice and Conversion features, are powered by third-party companies such as OpenAI, ChatGPT, and Claude which may use your personal data subject to the terms of their privacy policy.

We and/or our business partners may use the personal data you provide through AI Functions to improve our services, including to train or fine-tune our artificial intelligence and machine learning models. You may have the right to opt out of such use depending on your jurisdiction; please refer to the Region-Specific Disclosures section below for more information.

We disclose or otherwise make available personal data in the following ways:

To Other Users : When you use Chegg, you may set up your personal profile, connect with instructors, coaches or other learners, send and receive messages, perform searches and queries, enroll in events and courses, and transmit information through various channels. We may display your profile name and other optional profile details to other users. If you share comments or content through our services, that information will be made available to certain or all other Chegg customers, or the general public, based on the applicable privacy settings and intended recipients. Keep in mind that the users who view user-generated content can always reshare or redistribute the content both on and off our services or save or copy the content outside of our services. In addition, by publicly posting content on our services, you are directing us to disclose that information as broadly as possible and directing those accessing the content to do the same.

If you submit user content, this content may be visible to other users who can provide feedback. Do not provide any personal data through these channels that you do not want shared. Never provide Sensitive Personal Data.
