Does Roblox train on your data?
Roblox trains its filter technology on children's comments and messages under legitimate interest. Voice needs consent; text does not.

How we read it: The split is the finding, and it runs the wrong way round for a platform whose users are largely children. Voice is handled carefully: recordings inform training only "with your consent", and private-server voice chat is excluded outright for users in the EEA and in Brazil. Text gets none of that. Comments and messages are used for "training and improving our filter technology" on a legitimate-interest basis, with no consent asked and no setting named. A second sentence, recovered on 1 September 2026, says it more broadly: "Where the law allows us to, we may use the content you and other users have posted for training or to help us to improve the way we filter content on our platform."

How to opt out of Roblox AI training
Plan by plan, from what Roblox's own policy says about refusing. Where it publishes the steps, they're listed here with the limits they carry. Where there's nothing to switch off, or nothing graded, this says so instead of inventing a menu path.

What this policy has done since we started watching
No change detected. We've held a copy of Roblox's policy since 1 Aug 2026 and re-read it since, across 5 captures. The text hasn't moved in a way that touches this verdict. That's a fact about the document, and it's only knowable by having kept the earlier copies.
Everything we read
Vendor response
We wrote to Roblox on 1 Sept 2026, quoting the clauses above and inviting a correction. Nothing has come back. That's published because a company declining to comment on its own policy is something a reader should know, and because the invitation should be on the record whether or not it's taken up. Any reply goes here, word for word.
