Does Epic Games train on your data?
Epic trains machine-learning technologies on your use of its services by default, for moderation and recommendations. The way out is a rights request to its privacy team, not a setting.
"we may use your information to analyze your use of the Epic Services, support auditing, and improve features, technologies, and processes, including by training machine learning technologies to detect and moderate illegal, harmful, toxic, and fraudulent conduct and content that violates applicable laws or our terms and policies."

How we read it: Two purposes name the training: "training machine learning technologies to detect and moderate illegal, harmful, toxic, and fraudulent conduct and content", on legitimate interests, and improving "the machine learning technologies that help deliver these personalized recommendations". Both draw on "your information", which the policy defines to include what you post in chat and forums and how you play. LLM providers "to enable AI-powered features" are named among service providers. The route out is the EEA/UK rights list, "object to some types of processing, including ... based on our legitimate interests", by email to privacy@support.epicgames.com. No setting is named, so a D.

How to opt out of Epic Games AI training
Plan by plan, from what Epic Games's own policy says about refusing. Where it publishes the steps, they're listed here with the limits they carry. Where there's nothing to switch off, or nothing graded, this says so instead of inventing a menu path.
All accounts (Fortnite, Epic Games Store and the rest)
Yes, but not self-serve: Epic Games makes you contact support.

Vendor response
We wrote to Epic Games on 11 Sept 2026, quoting the clauses above and inviting a correction. Nothing has come back. That's published because a company declining to comment on its own policy is something a reader should know, and because the invitation should be on the record whether or not it's taken up. Any reply goes here, word for word.
