Does Citi train on your data?
Citi's US privacy notice for consumers never mentions AI or model training. Its notice for institutional clients promises not to train third-party models on their data.
Re-read on 7 October 2026. The global privacy statement this entry read in August is gone. Its address now opens Citi's notice for website visitors, which is silent too. The notice for personal customers is the US Privacy Notice for Consumers, last updated 2 June 2026. It never mentions AI, machine learning or model training. Its one "training" is employee training and its one "model" is your device's. Citi's notice for institutional clients does take up the question: "We do not use your personal data to train third party models." It adds that where processing involves machine learning or statistical models, it may not be possible to remove every trace of someone's data. Neither sentence appears in the consumer notice.

Two of the nine bear on training, both in the notice for institutional clients: "We do not use your personal data to train third party models", and the next sentence's "machine learning or statistical models", from which data may not be fully removable. The rest are staff training, AI used to monitor transactions and build marketing profiles, and in the consumer notice "employee training" and "device manufacturer and model".

How to opt out of Citi AI training
Plan by plan, from what Citi's own policy says about refusing. Where it publishes the steps, they're listed here with the limits they carry. Where there's nothing to switch off, or nothing graded, this says so instead of inventing a menu path.
