Does Freeletics train on your data?
Freeletics trains its Coach+ assistant on fitness data and says it uses only aggregated or de-identified data to do it. It names no setting for staying out of that training set.

How we read it: Two things here are better than the grade suggests, and neither is a switch. The de-identification is categorical rather than hedged — "only aggregated or de-identified", where Strava says "where possible" and GitHub "where feasible" — and Freeletics binds its LLM partner to a "Zero-Retention/Zero Training Policy" covering queries and metrics. What the policy never offers is a way to keep your fitness data out of Coach+'s training set. F on this site is the no-opt-out grade, not a reading of intent. One question the document leaves open, and the one worth asking them: whether that training set draws on every user or only on those who choose to use Coach+.
opt out, opt-out, settings, withdraw, object, Coach+, consent
What the document does offer
- consent controls over HealthKit and Google Health Connect imports — what Freeletics may collect, not what it may train on
- privacy settings governing what other users can see of your profile and training data
- account deletion, which removes results and progress rather than withdrawing past training contributions
Why none of it applies: Every control the policy names sits upstream of the training clause or beside it: what is collected, and who else can see it. Nothing addresses Coach+'s training set, and the de-identification is offered in place of a choice rather than alongside one.

How to opt out of Freeletics AI training
Plan by plan, from what Freeletics's own policy says about refusing. Where it publishes the steps, they're listed here with the limits they carry. Where there's nothing to switch off, or nothing graded, this says so instead of inventing a menu path.

What this policy has done since we started watching
No change detected. We've held a copy of Freeletics's policy since 29 Aug 2026 and re-read it since, across 2 captures. The text hasn't moved in a way that touches this verdict. That's a fact about the document, and it's only knowable by having kept the earlier copies.

Vendor response
We wrote to Freeletics on 31 Aug 2026, quoting the clauses above and inviting a correction. Nothing has come back. That's published because a company declining to comment on its own policy is something a reader should know, and because the invitation should be on the record whether or not it's taken up. Any reply goes here, word for word.
