Does Peloton train on your data?
Peloton builds and trains its models on your activity and reviews the results by hand, by default. One switch, Personalized Experiences, in the Privacy section of your Preferences.
A self-serve opt-out exists
"Some of these Inferences based on activity and recommendations utilize internal machine learning models and may be supported by AI Service Providers. We use this data to build, train, analyze and improve the accuracy of our models."

How we read it: The models are the recommendation and inference models: "Some of these Inferences based on activity and recommendations utilize internal machine learning models", and the data is what you do on the equipment and in the app. The human review is stated in the same breath: "We manually review the recommendations and Inferences based on activity produced by the models against the underlying data". The switch is named in the next paragraph and quoted in the steps. Third-party AI providers receive de-identified data and are barred from training their own general models on it, which is grade-neutral here. A C rather than a D because the control is a toggle in settings, on every plan.
"If a person opts in, voice data may be used to improve our abilities to understand voice commands in general when you are using the Peloton Guide and the Cross Training Series."

How we read it: Voice data is the one input the policy says is used only on opt-in: "If a person opts in, voice data may be used to improve our abilities to understand voice commands in general". The same paragraph says the data is not used for identification and is not stored by Peloton. Off by default.

How to opt out of Peloton AI training
Plan by plan, from what Peloton's own policy says about refusing. Where it publishes the steps, they're listed here with the limits they carry. Where there's nothing to switch off, or nothing graded, this says so instead of inventing a menu path.
All members (activity and workout data)
Yes. Peloton has a self-serve setting.
- Open your Profile and go to Preferences.
- Open the Privacy section.
- Toggle off "Personalized Experiences".
Voice Control (Guide and Cross Training Series)
Nothing to switch off: Peloton's policy says training is off here.
What this policy has done since we started watching
The record starts here. Peloton's policy was first captured on 6 Sept 2026, and there's no earlier copy to compare it against, so this verdict has no history behind it yet. From now on every re-read is diffed against that copy, and anything that moves appears here.

Vendor response
We wrote to Peloton on 11 Sept 2026, quoting the clauses above and inviting a correction. Nothing has come back. That's published because a company declining to comment on its own policy is something a reader should know, and because the invitation should be on the record whether or not it's taken up. Any reply goes here, word for word.
