Does Opera train on your data?
Opera's AI FAQ says Opera AI does not use what you type in the chat, or the pages you browse, to train AI models, and that OpenAI and Google keep only anonymised fragments, briefly.

How we read it: Resolved from UNCLEAR on 10 September 2026. The privacy statement, last updated 4 September 2026, never uses "train"; the Opera AI FAQ in the help centre, undated, does, twice, and answers no both times, once for chat and browsing content and once for uploaded files. The FAQ also sets retention: chat history encrypted on Opera's servers for a year if you are signed in, anonymised parts of chats at OpenAI for 30 days and at Google for no longer than a day. B because it is a help page's undertaking rather than the privacy statement's.

How to opt out of Opera AI training
Plan by plan, from what Opera's own policy says about refusing. Where it publishes the steps, they're listed here with the limits they carry. Where there's nothing to switch off, or nothing graded, this says so instead of inventing a menu path.

Nothing to switch off: Opera's policy says training is off here.
