Does SHEIN train on your data?
SHEIN trains internal models on customer-service chats, de-identifies them first, and tells you how to object.

How we read it: Narrower and better documented than most of this group. The scope is customer-service chat content rather than everything, the chats are "de- identified before AI review", the legal basis is stated, and the right to object is set out explicitly — "You have the right to object at any time to the use of your customer-service chat content". What keeps it at D is that objecting is the remedy: the processing runs until you exercise it. The same section notes chats may also be read by human reviewers in China and the Philippines to validate the AI's output.

How to opt out of SHEIN AI training
Plan by plan, from what SHEIN's own policy says about refusing. Where it publishes the steps, they're listed here with the limits they carry. Where there's nothing to switch off, or nothing graded, this says so instead of inventing a menu path.

Yes, but not self-serve: SHEIN makes you contact support.
- Go to Shein's Privacy Center at shein.co.uk/Privacy-Center-a-1045.html and submit a request.
- Object to the use of your customer-service chats to train its service-quality models.
This covers the one training use Shein describes, customer-service chat content. The Privacy Center is the route the notice gives for exercising rights.

Vendor response
We wrote to SHEIN on 1 Sept 2026, quoting the clauses above and inviting a correction. Nothing has come back. That's published because a company declining to comment on its own policy is something a reader should know, and because the invitation should be on the record whether or not it's taken up. Any reply goes here, word for word.
