Does Vinted train on your data?
Vinted builds internal machine-learning models from member data, and commits not to sell them. Training rests on legitimate interests, so the objection right reaches it.
"This includes developing tools such as internal machine learning models. We do not commercialise these models - that is, we neither sell them nor make them otherwise available to third parties."

How we read it: The second sentence is the unusual one and it is quoted here on purpose: Vinted says it neither sells these models nor makes them available to third parties. Most policies on this site say what they may do; very few say what they will not. It is still a commitment about distribution rather than about training, and the models are built either way. The basis given is legitimate interests — named seventeen times in this capture — which is what makes the objection right apply, and why this is D rather than F. What is not stated is any switch: nothing in the document turns model development off for your account.
opt out, object to, right to object, legitimate interest, withdraw, settings
What the document does offer
- "You have the right to object."
- "You can also request to move your data to another service, withdraw your consent for its use at any time or lodge a data protection complaint if needed"
- "If you withdraw your consent to receive certain notifications, we'll stop using your data for that purpose immediately" — notifications, not models
Why none of it applies: Legitimate interests is the basis Vinted gives for improving its internal technologies, and the objection right is stated plainly and without a geographic condition, so it reaches the clause quoted here. Consent withdrawal does not: the consent Vinted describes covers feedback projects and notifications, and the model development sits on the other basis. No setting anywhere governs it.

How to opt out of Vinted AI training
Plan by plan, from what Vinted's own policy says about refusing. Where it publishes the steps, they're listed here with the limits they carry. Where there's nothing to switch off, or nothing graded, this says so instead of inventing a menu path.

Yes, but not self-serve: Vinted makes you contact support.
- Email privacysupport@vinted.co.uk, or use the contact form in Vinted's help centre.
- Object to the use of your data to develop internal machine learning models, which Vinted processes under legitimate interest.
Vinted says it will stop unless it has a strong legal reason that overrides your interests.

Vendor response
We wrote to Vinted on 24 Aug 2026, quoting the clauses above and inviting a correction. Nothing has come back. That's published because a company declining to comment on its own policy is something a reader should know, and because the invitation should be on the record whether or not it's taken up. Any reply goes here, word for word.
