Does Lloyds Banking Group train on your data?
Lloyds is the first incumbent bank here that answers the question: it trains systems that learn from your data, and says so in its own words.
"You can also object to any use of your information where we have given 'legitimate interest' as our reason for using it."

How we read it: The first incumbent bank in this archive to answer the question. "To train systems that learn from data" is listed among its uses with legitimate interest as the reason, and a later section explains that its systems "learn from this information to make sure our automated decisions stay accurate and fair. This is sometimes known as 'artificial intelligence' or 'machine learning'." Graded D because the exit is statutory rather than a setting: you may object to any legitimate-interest use, but must give reasons, and Lloyds may refuse where it has legal grounds. A separate right lets you ask a person to review an automated decision.
object to, objection, legitimate interest, marketing, settings, by default, default
What the document does offer
- "You can also object to any use of your information where we have given ‘legitimate interest’ as our reason for using it"
- "The right to object: You have the right to object to us using your personal information for marketing purposes, and we must act on this" — marketing carries a stronger promise than the general objection
- "You can object to an automated decision we have made and ask that a person reviews it"
- "default" appears zero times in the capture
Why none of it applies: Two objection rights of different strength in the same document. For marketing, Lloyds says "we must act on this". For everything resting on legitimate interest — which is where the training use sits — the right is stated without that undertaking. There is no setting, no toggle and no named route, and no default is stated anywhere.

How to opt out of Lloyds Banking Group AI training
Plan by plan, from what Lloyds Banking Group's own policy says about refusing. Where it publishes the steps, they're listed here with the limits they carry. Where there's nothing to switch off, or nothing graded, this says so instead of inventing a menu path.
