Does Clay train on your data?
Clay says customer data is never used to train its own AI models or its providers'. Its trust centre keeps a door open: if that ever changed, customers would get an opt-out.

How we read it: Resolved from UNCLEAR on 23 September 2026 by Clay's own "AI in Clay" page. The privacy policy never mentions training. The trust-centre FAQ asks "Will Clay use our data for any AI training purposes?" and answers about third parties. This page answers for Clay, and repeats it feature by feature, down to "Chat history and table context are not used for training." B, not A, for two reasons. The FAQ's next answer says that if Clay ever made customer tables available for AI training it "would provide a mechanism for customers to opt out", which is a door held open. And the terms keep aggregated performance data for improving the product. Clay was written to on 19 August 2026 and hasn't replied.

How to opt out of Clay AI training
Plan by plan, from what Clay's own policy says about refusing. Where it publishes the steps, they're listed here with the limits they carry. Where there's nothing to switch off, or nothing graded, this says so instead of inventing a menu path.
All accounts
Nothing to switch off: Clay's policy says training is off here.

Vendor response
We wrote to Clay on 19 Aug 2026, quoting the clauses above and inviting a correction. Nothing has come back. That's published because a company declining to comment on its own policy is something a reader should know, and because the invitation should be on the record whether or not it's taken up. Any reply goes here, word for word.
